A Robot Love Story by Spike Jonze

Where do I begin? To tell the story of how great a Robotic Love can be...

The Revo-Emag guys and their fiends might give me a hard time for this but…who doesn’t like a little romance in their lives?
I know..I know…if I was just like one of you, a male gReek geek that is,  I’d instantly be knighted Sir Gaylord for this entry. Heh.

You judge for yourself. Clicketty-click on http://www.imheremovie.com/

So I’m Here may be a tad foaming-at-the-mouth kinda cheesy or oh-so-predictable-followed-by-severe-rolling-of-eyes-till-it-takes-a-leap-from-your-eye-sockets for some, but…  I don’t dislike it.  In fact, I blame the severe downpour today and my rainyday play-list that was on loop if there EVER was a slight salty lump in the throat. SLIGHT yah. Don’t get ideas.

If the storyline or genre ain’t your shot of Tequila, at least be open to it for:
  • how it’s Wall-E for adults. Heh.
  • how the robots are much more human, that they give the dysfunctional humans in the film a run for their precious pumping hearts

    There's something about Sheldon's eyes...
  • Sheldon’s eyes
  • its eclectic Indie soundtrack that features Aska Matsumiya, Lost in the Trees, Sleigh Bells, Gui Boratto, of Montreal, Girls, Animal Collective
  • its themes such as relationships, discrimination, the ephemeral quality of life itself - even robots are vulnerable to wear and tear and need for repair.

I wanna call a cinema my own someday
  • its interactive virtual cinema website

Some memories are triggered..and I can’t help but compare other short films that came before like Struck (Taron Lexton) and Signs (Patrick Hughes)?

Once again, clicketty-click (I LOVE THIS WORD) below for the aforementioned short films. Then compare and contrast.
Oh while you’re at it, you HAVE to check out the Behind-the-scenes bit for Struck.

You gotta love both Jenna & Bodhi Elfman!

For some reason, I’ve this urge to watch Bicentennial Man which till this day I’ve never watched in its entirety. I’ve a soft spot for Robin Williams.

So what’s your take on Spike Jonze’s I’m Here? I’d love to hear your rants and gushes over at Revo-Emag. Just don’t send us pictures of er..your fave robots or toys. No wait, send them over to my fellow Revo-Emag blogger DX. (Le Sauce nods away approvingly…)

After watching I’m Here, yeah…that’s it. Humans are a bore and a chore. Don’t even get me started on the Inhumans.
I’m pretty darn open to a date with either one of the 2 Robots.
Who doesn’t love having options?
